That was a very interesting thread over on the other board. Chinese warriors would probably beat Samurai to the store shelves as a whole theme. I don't think Playmobil wants to make an oriental theme or they would have by now. I actually think the Seven samurai would be an exellent way to get a japanese warrior out without committing to a whole theme. I guess that's copyrighted, but they could do something like it. Pirates and Knights are familiar to Europe and America so they will release and re-release those until the end of time. I love the knights, but come on PM, Time for the age of the Samurai.

I could rant all day this subject, but I don't want to get on a side trail. Sorry if I strayed too far already :-X (actually, I like Chengs idea for the seven even better after ranting just a little ;D)

Cheng - your figures are always good but this is the best thing you've ever done.

I'd always thought samurai were the one thing that couldn't be made from playmo figures.  These are wonderful.

Am I right in saying that there's a warrior monk among them in the first picture?  I seem to recall there was a famous one in the old stories (Benke?) bit like Friar Tuck in the Robin Hood stories.

hey thanks for all the compliments and comments!

and thanks Stéphane, I didnt know they were called sashimono(s).....Lego flags...anyone know whether they have a Lego DS....i'll go crazy ordering other compatible-to-PM parts!!!  :P

I'm of course praying very hard that there will be at least an asian special in 2008 or earlier  ;D

...all i need is his legs and then there'll be loads and loads colorful samurai armies  :D (i started collecting again only after those judokas, ninjas and other asian klickies became extinct...so i dont own any, as you can see)

i hope someone will confirm that an asian theme is on the way (i was the first to unmistakably confirm that the Roman legs first posted in playmoboard were genuine...i dont know if someone else did that even earlier on another foreign board though)...and was i really excited myself after that....now i can only hope and pray again  :)
