OLD PHOTOS
« on: April 05, 2007, 12:31:06 am »

Hello, my friends ...

Back in the old days, when digital cameras were in their infancy (my very first one was from Apple and it was called a "QuickTake"), i took some some pictures of my Playmobil.

Beginning today, I am going to begin sharing those Playmobil digital photos of yesteryear ... :)

I will try to post one a day.

Hopefully, I will not bore everyone (some of you may even find it interesting) ... ;)

Please let me know what you think ... :)

All the best,
Richard

just for some time relevance... the first pic certainly made my mouth water for more!  ;D
I left my love a letter in the hollar of a tree.
I told her she would find me in the U.S. Cavalry.
High, yo, down they go, there's no such word as can't.

Thank you, gentlemen!

Most of the photos were taken about twelve years ago.

We still have ALL of our little Klickys. You can go HERE to see where Garden Wargaming keeps their Playmobil ... :)

Thanks for your comments and questions, GaiusIulius ...

The QuickTake had a resolution of 640x480 pixels. However, I replaced it with my first digital video camera as soon as they came out! (The "still" photos were much better than the QuickTake!) But, none of these "early" cameras can compare to the megapixel wonders that are now available. And, today's digital cameras are even less expensive!

Today's "old" photo is:
"British Marines"

Richard I love the Marines.  I'm thinking of doing one myself.  How did you make the hats.  They're not a standard Playmo part are they?

Hello, Dan ...

Thank you for your kind words about the British Marines ... :)

Yes, those are Playmobil hats (please see attachment). Actually, the Marine hats are Home Manufactured duplicates of a top hat from a Playmobil set (3543) depicting a group of early 19th Century travelers (please look at the hat on the figure in the center of the picture of set 3543).

NOTE: The collars and epaulets, cross-belts and cuffs are also Home Manufactured duplicates.

All the best,
Richard

thanks for sharing, Richard!

They are "temporarily" boxed up and stored HERE.

Fortunately, we have enough Playmobil so that, so far, we have never had to recustomize any of our customized figures.

Please let me know if there are any klickys (from the "old" photos) that you would like to see and I will try to take some "new" photos this summer.

Thank you for your comments, Cheng.

All the best,
Richard
