hello again Michael !
your
légion étrangère is my one of my 'oldest dreams'
i suppose those old 'ambulance caps' are no longer available  :( ,
against your rules to add tuck a piece of square white at the back of their caps?   ;D
great customs!

the cap is original pm, but very old, probably from one of the first sets, there is also a red, a blue and one with wide orange stripes, so  they should not be too rare  :D
recently there was a group of four white on ebay for weeks, but as i looked up now they were sold :'(

a back view will come up soon, i have to rediscover a playbig knapsack in the cellar of my parents before

very good setting and photo of your klickies in the 2 'the charge' pics, michael !

and thanks for the close-ups of your legionaire..
I NEED THOSE CAPS !!!!!!  ;D :D

none of the PM knapsacks i bought are suitable...too big...those backpacks of those old TV crews are still the most suitable PM parts...hope they re-issue them someday  ;D

do i see a sort of blue wrap-around his waist...was that meant to be part of his uniform? thanks for sharing!  :)

Quote
The blue belt :

It makes its apparition in the Units of the expedition corps in Algeria in 1830 until 1882. The wool belt, was originally worn by African corps to protect their stomach from infections.
Since 1881, the blue belt (4.20 m long and 40 cm width) has been added to the parad uniform, worn over it as a distinctive sign of the French Foreign Legion.
quoted from
http://www.livres-legion-etrangere.com/french-foreign-legion/lasymbolique.htm

- the recent variant wears a playbig ambulance kepi  ;)
- there are also smaller (old and colored  :P) bags for schoolchildren, which might be eligible  as knapsacks for the equipment of some units in size and shape. for those a way to fix them loosely has to be found
@ geobra: Thanks a lot!!! :-)

:o really great, ur legionnaire is simply magnificent, henry!  ;D
I left my love a letter in the hollar of a tree.
I told her she would find me in the U.S. Cavalry.
High, yo, down they go, there's no such word as can't.
We'll ride clean down to hell and back for Ulysses Simpson Grant.
