Hello!
This time I collected all of my British soldiers and tried to reconstruct a authentic battalion in line formation!
Usually, back then, a British battalion consisted of 10 companies of 100 men, including one grenadier company and one company of light infantry (Duncas' manual: Principles of Military Movements, 1788).
Depicted below is what I could come up with:
A company = 18 soldiers, 2 sergeants, 2 officers (captain & Lieutenant)
On the left: a Grenadier company
Then: 2 companies of regulars
Then: the colour-party (5 sergeants, 2 ensigns & an officer)
then: 2 companies of regulars & a company of light infantry
The colonel rides up front, the Lieutenant-colonel behind the colour-party & behind the drummers / musicians, the Staff officers.
