@panos: i hope we will see what you did with the turbans soon.

@cheng: the guides wore dress and turban in khaki. but for now i use only parts that are available from the ds (or at least affordable from other sources). the number of the red turban was from the invoice of an order in which i had just described it.

the white hats are supposed to be a playmobilish foreign service helmet/topee as long as there is no more convincing item for this purpose. they are camping hats or something like that from a set probably so very old that i am wondering if then existed part numbers at all. quite rare, but fortunately not impossible to find. putting one of them on the head of a redcoat was my first "customization".

i was amazed of your use of the lego flags on the back of one of your splendid samurai and how our own cultural environment and background brings us to see different things in the same object. these flags fit so perfect to pm poles that i consider them as genuine pm parts.

@playmobil: if you read this: the next dinosaur with scientist set would be a great opportunity to provide us with a decent topee. don't miss it. and put a highlander with an india-style turban in this set too.

i know, i try so hard tp stick to PM parts only but we all know how frustrating it is to keep waiting and hoping kids and

oh, i have one of those you called 'camping hats' they are like those US sailors hat with the brims folded down...maybe they are from some adventure sets or something

your first "customization"?! excellent already...you should have seen my first customization 

hey...exactly how i feel.....i see lego parts as genuine pm parts....(maybe bacause of their quality, finish and colours!)

That's a seriously interesting name there!

I'll believe there's somewhere called "Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen-Anspach" but "Merthyr Tydvil" - never!

@ dan: you are completely right. it is just a  'regiment saddled with a fantastic title on the territorial system, as, for instance, Mr. Kipling’s famous regiment, “The Princess Hohenzollern--Anspach’s Merthyr Tydvilshire Own Royal Loyal Light Infantry.”' (w. churchill, THE STORY OF THE MALAKAND FIELD FORCE, available from www.gutenberg.org). i don't know, in which of kipling's works they appear. 

@ GaiusIulius: of course they did not loose their colours in action. a part of my only union jack broke, when i tried to put it on a pole before taking the picture. the lad on the left in the second rank was supposed to hold it. but it is a good reason to customize a new one.

Excellent customs, Henry_Martini!  All are superb, but I particularly like the camel corps.  This makes me wish Playmobil would come out with a British Imperialism theme.
