shakos
« on: December 15, 2006, 05:15:13 AM »
just 2 'shako' units to post on our rather quiet customising section... :)
the first unit using torsos from the northerner special
and the second, torsos from the cruiseship kapitan
....no historical reference...or is there any semblence?  ;D

what happens to nosy ducks?  :D
(sorry, poor lighting...those shiny & brand new klickies in blue really look good, otherwise)

Poor duckie! :o :o

The shakos look great, cheng! :D
Clever idea to use the cruise ship captain's torso for a soldier's uniform. 8)

Hello, Cheng ...

The uniforms of your first unit are quite grand.

Before the American Civil War, there were several volunteer units that looked a lot like your Playmobil toy soldiers.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful new soldiers with us.

All the best,
Richard

thansk all !

and Richard,
yes, I remember seeing some New Yorkers(was it?) in ACW dressed like my first picture...

Michael, I wasnt ever going to make napoleonic themes (just like when i said 'no' to knights theme but ended up with several armies  :D )
well, i started with 1, then 2, now i have quite a lot of napoleonic units....i just kept making without really knowing who is who (except the french and british who i can really recognise)...and looks like i might have crossed over the ocean and time line with these ACW-lookalike unit  ;D

Personally, I'd save the cruise ship torso for making Officers and the other for soldiers.  But they all look good!

I left my love a letter in the hollar of a tree.
I told her she would find me in the U.S. Cavalry.

thanks all,
and Dan, appreciate comments like yours, really  :)
i dont have big armies so looks like these potential officers have to start from the lowest all over again  ;D

as for 'the other torso' i didnt want to add more northerners to my small crowded shelf (and i also have this funny rule against having different uniforms for each unit(while southerners are ok)  :P
