Flag printoffs?
« on: May 17, 2008, 03:21:46 PM »
 Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows a good website to print flags off of?
I was wondering because GaiusIulius has asked me to make a flag for my zouves
and I don't want to ruin a flag right now and I don't want to let GaiusIulius
down  ;D

Have you ever visited our good friend Ian Croxall's WarFlag website?

Click HERE ... If you haven't seen this site, I think that you'll like it a lot!

Hello, Dan ...

Oh they are GOOD!

Ian's Warflag site has been on the internet for just about as long as our Garden Wargaming site.

Several years ago we encouraged Ian to keep his "classic" style flags, as he was changing everything over to the "wrinkled fabric" style. When Ian polled his users, he found that there were just about as many who liked the "classic" style as there were who liked the "wrinkled fabric" style. So, for many of Ian's flags, you will see both styles. Personally, for Playmobil, I prefer the plain "classic" style.

All the best,
Richard

For Playmo I agree the "classic" style is best but the "wrinkled" style would be superb for metal wargames figures etc.

The side is very interesting, but the quality auf the flags is for using by plamobil soldiers very bad.

When you print them in the right size for playmobil you see only pixel. You cannot read the battle honors on the flags or the regiment name.

Send Ian Croxall an email ([email protected]) and he will explain how you can print larger flags without losing the detail.

All the best,
Richard

NOTE: As Ian explains on his Warflag site, "When I began doing the flags, the internet was very young, computers were very slow by today's standards, and a 40 MB hard drive was "big". Consequently, those earlier flags are quite a bit lower resolution than newer ones, and drawing programs were more primitive."

However, there are other places to get flags ... For instance: Click HERE.
