Fabulous! I love him.  :D

I may even have to make a copy of this one for my own collection. 8)

My late grandfather was in the Kriegsmarine during WW2, based at Kiel. I don't know what the English name for his job is and can't quite remember the German word for it, but he was awarded an iron cross (2nd class) for correctly relaying enemy aircraft co-ordinates which helped to prevent an imminent airstrike.
JustForKl!cks has had a make-over! Come and check out the new look site! :)

I have respect for German soldiers like your grandfather, a respect that some people dont want to give...

anyway, here are the parts:

legs are from a fireman special
arms and cap are from the latest captain special
torso is from the union soldier special
I can remember the belt and neck piece.

Here is my reference:

thanks for the comment

I like ur marine tanotrooper. But what does he do with his Mauser on the sea?!?! Anyway if u mke a U-Boot build a VII-C class one I always liked that one most in Silend Hunter 3.  ;)
According to the historcal facts I have to say that for me as a German it is a somehow ambivalent feeling seeing WWII figures. On the one hand I'd say they r soldiers like every other soldier but on the other hand they fought in a very cruel war...Today it is difficult in German to 'honor' those poor guys who fought a war which Im sure hey didnt want because honoring puts one in the 'nazi-corner' very quickly and Im definatly no nazi.
So nice figure and I hope we will see more, perhaps I will build one myself too.

I see your point Gaius Iulius. A U-boot wont be for anytime soon, but in the meantime I will check the type you mentioned. I suppose his mauser can be in his sleeping wrong next to his bed or somewhere where the ammo and so is kept. I played medal of honour: European assault (all gold :D) and see these soldiers garding docks also when they have no U-boot duty.

How many legionnaires do you have by now, mr. Gaius?

Your custom is very well done tanotrooper.
I feel very much the same way Gai does. A difficult part of history, especially when its put into a toy figure. But then again that goes for just about any "toy-soldiers".

I left my love a letter in the hollar of a tree.
I told her she would find me in the U.S. Cavalry.
High, yo, down they go, there's no such word as can't.
We'll ride clean down to hell and back for Ulysses Simpson Grant.
