What is an avatar? How do I get one for myself?
« on: October 13, 2006, 09:37:42 pm »
An avatar is a visual representation of your GW-PC "identity".

Most members create their own custom avatar from a photo of a Playmobil figure.

To begin, click on your Profile button in the menu at the top of the page, then select "Forum Profile Information" from the navigation section on the left.

To use a custom avatar, select the "I have my own pic" option and input the web address if it is remotely hosted. If you want us to store the avatar for you, use the "I will upload my own picture" option, and then click "browse" to find your avatar photo. Please note that maximum avatar size is set at 80x80 pixels and it is not possible to upload or link to an image larger than this.

If you have an idea in mind for an avatar pic but do not know how to make one yourself, feel free to ask your fellow members for help as there are many creative people here who will be willing to do this for you at no cost or obligation.

Thanks to Sylvia (Krystal) for this excellent explanation !!!

Hi Richard :)

Has a size limit been set for avatar pics at GW-PC?

I know that you can upload pics larger than 80x80 (PlaymoFriends' limit) here, but I have often wondered what the cut-off point is. :-\

Splendid avatar figure, Craig! 8)

Did you know that if you crop the blank space at the sides and a little from below the feet, you will be able to make your pic a lot deeper in pixel size without going any wider? This will allow us all to see more detail in the magnificent-looking uniform you are wearing. ;) (If you don't have the appropriate software to do this, e-mail the original full-size photo to me, and I will be happy to do this for you. :))
JustForKl!cks has had a make-over! Come and check out the new look site! :)
