real fleece hats
« on: March 20, 2006, 05:27:23 PM »
Hi all,

I have been asked several times to post some close-ups of my French Grenadiers with their hats. So here we go. As I wasnt sure about everyworde I added sometimes the German word.

1.: thats what u need to create them:

   - a Klicky
   - a round piece of wood (cross section (Querschnitt) at least 2 cm)
(Balsa-wood is very good for it because it isnt so heavy)
   - glue (Klebstoff)(I used Patex and it worked very well)
   - a piece of fleece
   - some black color

2.:

    - u cut a circle in the wood with a knife so that u have a border from the inner circe to the out one of about 1-2mm (be careful!)
    - u cut the fleece in two parts:
       1) a circle (on top of the hat)
       2) a long rectangle (hight of the hat x (2*Pi*r)  :P ~ 12 cm)
    - u fix the fleece with the glue around the hat
    - u paint the white/wooden parts black
    - u should cut the fleece a little bit  :D

and thats it. Have fun!

Very impressive! That is a clever way to create hats.

Compliment!  :D

Are you also a member in the german board?

I left my love a letter in the hollar of a tree.
I told her she would find me in the U.S. Cavalry.
High, yo, down they go, there's no such word as can't.
