I think these Qing soldiers look great!

The unit designation on the front of the coat is interesting--I've read those plates served as both unit identifier and dog tag for the soldier.

But, have you seen any pictures of the Qing Muslem army from Xinjiang province?  At the time of the Boxer rebellion,  these men had the most current weapons and western-style drill, but their general resisted marching to Beijing because he didn't want the allied invasion army to decimate his forces.  The uniforms of these soldiers were quite different from the bannermen.

How about trying your hand at a Chinese dragon cannon?

thanks a lot..

unfortunately I cant read mandarin so I cant do much research on those  unit designations and history :P

I dont know if those I've seen are those of the Qing Muslem army from Xinjiang province.....but we do see such soldier with rifles even in scale models.

Can you post a picture or link here or PM me?

the Chinese dragon cannon you speak of must be those firing out of something like a crate with 4 wheels....hmmmm
