« on: June 07, 2007, 05:43:21 AM »
caps & hats has always been the key thing to my customs...i had wanted to do this long ago but didnt because i wouldnt allow myself to do any irreversible like cutting/drilling.  :-\

no turning back now  ;D

well cheng they look fantastic  ;D. The Zouves are always a very interesting theme to customize. My special interest goes to the feet of ur men. Those white things above the shoes (they r called Gamaschen in German but I dont know the english word) ho do u build them?

thanks Guys! (no pun intended  ;D )

@Gai: i just wrapped vinyl strips around their shins

@Michael: well, the owl was wondering "did cheng make is this fourth night-cap for me?!"
(I made an extra cap in case one of them got spoilt when  drilling 1 cm long holes for inserting the tassels)

...i was hoping some members might have some more interesting answers to "what did the owl say?"

heyyyy......nobody can guess where the tassels came from?! come on....easy for those who has that part...they are still selling them....(too easy for playmoboard members)....

Looks to me like the decorative tassel which hangs from the golden staff in this fairytale set. :)

I like the way you have used it on the zouave's hat. Very clever, cheng! 8)

BINGO! Sylvia  :)
i cut it just at the knot so that i could leave the other part on my flags...had to drill almost to the other surface to accomodate the long tassel rope...so there's no way it can drop out on its own (unlike those pom poms & feathers which drop off easily from those tricornes  :P

I love your Zouaves Cheng!   :o
The way you customised the caps is wonderful! Really nice work!  ;D
I left my love a letter in the hollar of a tree.
I told her she would find me in the U.S. Cavalry.
High, yo, down they go, there's no such word as can't.
We'll ride clean down to hell and back for Ulysses Simpson Grant.
