Hello everyone! :-)
« on: May 09, 2005, 04:28:25 AM »
Hi, some of you might know me already from Playmoboard, where I am a regular poster. I'm also member of Playmoportal (Bollian) and Playmofrance.
My 'obsession' with Playmobil started when I was a kid, back in the late 70's. My favourite themes were Pirates, Medieval and Western. Unfortunately, I lost interest in Playmo as a teenager, and...I sold my whole collection!
With the release of the Pirate Flagship 3940 (US 3286) in 2000, which I accidently saw in a toyshop, I got interested again. My intention was to buy only 1 such ship for nostalgic reasons...   . Of course, I haven't been able to stick to 1 ship and I have quite a reasonable fleet meanwhile. I'm only into the 'Pirate-theme', though this also includes soldiers, civilians, nobility, etc...., and several sets from other themes like Medieval (houses, castles, ....), some Western (stagecoach, covered wagon, artillery,...) and a few Vicotrian.  My goal is to create, in addition to a fleet (Pirate, English and Spanish vessels), a complete 18th-century harbourcity. I also customize clickies for this purpose, allthough I only use Playmo-parts and haven't done any paintwork sofar.
As I'm also a Tintin-fan, I use the name of a character in the comic-book 'Secret Of the Unicorn', capt'n François de Hadoque, as my nickname on the boards.
So, I think this introduction is long enough now   , so see you later!
Thousand bombes and grendades!

Hello, Hadoque ...

Welcome to the forum! There are several Playmobil Pirate fans here. I'm sure that you already know Capitan Enrique ... ;)

We look forward to seeing fotos of your collection. We also look forward to seeing fotos of your 18th Century harbour city when it's finished.

All the best,
Richard

Reasonable?!? Hadoque, I've seen picture of your fleet, and I think you have as many flagships as I do ships total! That is hardly "reasonable"!

Please post some pix of your fleet in the photo section to share with some of the other members - I am sure they'll be terrified, errr, impressed! :)

And I too am working on a port city. I already have a tavern, which also serves as a headquarters for Captain Henry when he is in port. But I've just gotten some more of the add-on houses, and as soon as I have a chance to paint them I plan on adding 3 or 4 more buildings to my port. Tell us more about what you've done so far so that we can copy your ideas, I mean, so that we can be "inspired"! :D

Glad to have you aboard mate!
Capitan Enrique
