Map of the Kingdom(s) of Rutileo
« on: September 13, 2010, 09:15:06 PM »
Here you see my Computer Graphics skills... on Paint. :P
These are my two maps for the Island of Rutileo,
Named so by the Romans for the "Red-Bannered" resistance group they had to face,
With the strength of lions. :o
(Many Romans also said they only had the brains of a lion too, but they won the War didn't they? ;) )

Any way, here are the maps:

The first one is a map of the individual Kingdoms of Rutileo, from the years 900-1100 (roughly).
The red bordered Kingdom is the Eastern Kingdom,
The white bordered one is the Northern Kingdom,
And the purple bordered one is the Western Kingdom.

The brown bordered "Kingdom" is Aun Kerac's Principality,
Which was established at about 1100 (right before the war against the Eastern Kingdom).
The boarder here becomes the basis for the later period Eastern Kingdom
Which stretches from sea to sea across the Island.

The second map is of the Kingdom after the 2 Great Wars,
(The war against the Eastern Kingdom, and the war with the Northern Kingdom.)
When the North, and West intergrated themselves into
Aun Kerac’s Kingdom and they became the Kingdom known as Rutileo.

The borders are the baronies of Rutileo.
The baronies are based off of the individual Kingdom’s borders after the two wars,
The Western Kingdom became the 2 purple boardered baronies,
The North becoming the white, pink, and gold bordered baronies,
And the “Eastern” Kingdom became the blue, dark red, and red colored baronies.

I will make maps showing the Kingdoms during/after the two wars as well
Which will be posted in this thread.
Also I will make a map of a later period, around the 14th century when an eighth barony emerges.

I hope you like them. :)

(PS, This map is actually a Playmobil map that I have painted-over/modified,
Can you tell which map? And from which set the map was in? ;D )

The current map of Rutileo,
The Eastern War is now over,
And Aun Kerac controls a Kingdom that stretches across the Island, from sea to sea.
The Western Empire has lost some land in the Northern reaches of their Kingdom,
But also won land in the south.
Around this time the North's Civil War is coming to an end,
With the Catholic Church's Templar Knights dominating the battle fields.

Very nice maps, WarriorOfToys.  It's good to see where Aun Kerac is from.

More maps. :)

First, an Economics map. This shows the regions where certain resources are gathered.
This doesn't mean that only mining is done in the mining zones, or only farming done in the farming zones,
This map just shows what is the most prominent resource being collected in that area.

Here is a population map, showing where most people are gathered.
The darker the red spot, the more people live there. Major cities are therefor very dark.

This is a map of the terrain using isolines to show the mountainous regions of the island.
The closer the lines are together the steeper it it is. Also, the more lines there are, the higher the altitude.
When the lines form a final circle, that means the hill/mountain has reached a peak.

I will come out with a map showing some of the roads and cities soon.
Be warned these are not necessarily the final drafts.
There is supposed to be a rather hilly and tiny bit mountainous region running down the east side of the island.
I will come out with new and improved maps soon. ;D

Thanks. ;D
Like I said, they could use more work.

I really like making a complete story,
meaning it is realistic from every angle. :)
So when I wanted an Island for my Playmobil,
I made a map, with everything. ;)

Glad you like them. :D
