in my opinion, the original PM colors most suited for their faces & arms would be those arms of the guy furthest right in the back row...i cant remember which original klicky it came from...had to dismember my southerners for these arms(3 of them..not too clear in my pics)
and this newer sword can pass off for those ancient chinese blades...sorry for the poor lighting again :P
and guess which guy says "and i'm bullet-proof this time around" (notice that incense bowl in the centre....after their rituals of course)
-
really a last pic together ;D
-

-
..weren't they supposed to be bulletproof?
these gullible boxers were assured that they were being protected by their God....until they met real bullets :D

Hello, Michael ...
How about Hayao Miyazaki's film Porco Rosso?
Jimbo, made a great seaplane and character from this film.
Click HERE (http://www.wingsee.com/ghibli/porcorosso/) for the film and HERE (http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=659.0) for Jimbo's customs.
Al the best,
Richard

Hello, Cheng ...
Your "improved" Boxers are wonderful!
How could we get some of those stickers that you used? Or, do we have to make our own? ... ;D
I have attached a picture from the newspaper "The Little Journal" which was published during the time of the Rebellion.
Thanks for sharing your Boxers with us, Cheng!
All the best,
Richard

These Boxers are wonderful!!! ;D

thanks guys!
OMG, thanks Richard!!!!!!!
...that's a gem of a picture...ANYMORE?
i've been searching and i customed from what i could remember from movies..and whatever i could find on wikipedia :)
..i still have half a sheet of those stickers(i can mail them to you if you promise to show us your customs using them ;D (i'll see if that shop has more...WARNING, they are too shiny for those customisers who prefer matt finishes)
and they are not paper stickers(against my own rules to use paper stickers anyway...they dont last and i need to wash my klickies under running water sometimes)
and Michael, thank you ;) (now you know why i need them in black..not green etc)

And, more ...

This is it! ... ;D

Richard,
i just asked if you had more, feeling like a David Copperfield :P
INCREDIBLE is an understatement!!!
you've the whole collection....with practically all the Nations involved...
what a collection :D
...i have saved your these pictures for my future reference (i wasnt sure if the foreign nations were dressed in these manner, as they would while serving at other wars in the similar period....i guess their armies' designers had no time to launch a spring asian collection of uniforrms :D )
i have been dreaming of picklehaubs, taller topees, sailor hats, fez together on one shelf/theme!!! but i thought might as well go ahead with the Boxers and let THEM do the waiting ;)
INCREDIBLE INCREDIBLE!! :o :)
now i wait for the rumoured asian theme in 2008...pray hard for those chinese cloth-shoes with cloth-socks....any caps, hats, rickshaw-hats, baggy sleeves(very good for samurais too), any wide blades etc etc...i know it may not be what children want nor will PM make most of them but we customisers need just a few of these accessories and viola...we'll continue to amaze PM while enjoying ourselves....
I feel i'm halfway there now...with your picture, Richard...i can visualise my shelf already! i know this is not a popular theme but at least i know you'll enjoy it too....PM me if you need those stickers!

and guess which guy says "and i'm bullet-proof this time around" (notice that incense bowl in the centre....after their rituals of course)
it's the one with the spiked balls aruond his neck? he looks quite confident.
what means the symbol on their chest?
@richard: i assume i have to take certain measures to see jimbo's pictures.
btw: a great pm-theme to dream of, the 20ies.

hey Michael...
actually it is that guy with the bullet wound on his left arm and his right shoulder ;D ....he's smiling again because he must have been brainwashed, again!
um....was afraid somebody might ask...i really dont know what the word means...i hope it doesnt mean 'coward' ;D ...if only there is a wikipedia for mandarin words :P :D
jimbo's pictures? ???

...a small sample of my dads(jimbo) customs are at www.jimeffect.com.
including porco and a couple shots of the seaplane.

ah so....arigato gozaimasu(thank you) knightmo so of Jimbo-san!
yes, i remember seeing your dad's work...he is good..no doubt about that...
and i like all his asian customs...they look 100% PM...the samurai with those bamboo armor must have taken him many research hours too!
and yes...we should continue launching our own asian customs until PM give us theirs to play with ;D

Amen. :)

@cheng: he really looks a bit brainwashed. if the bulletproof ritual doesn't work brainwashing always might help. :D
would you mind posting the sticker? where is the sign taken from?
@knightmo: thank you very much for the link. that's customization. :o

...
hey michael,
well, i hope he doesn't lose the other eye :D
i assume you meant 'post it here' and not to your home ;)
i trimmed off the petals of the cherry-blossoms printed on sticky silver foil
(i found out yesterday that the charater meant 'gift' and not 'coward'....not that bad....lucky for me :D
sign? ummmm...did you mean the urn/bowl for the josticks? ...my daughter gave it to me...definitely a non-PM
