hello all...
nothing new from me until the launch of the spanish theme (and asian theme?! ...i really hope there'll be a klicky with shaven(centre) head or i'll have to use those head pieces from the monk klicky for my next samurai custom ;D
-
I like the idea of making an one legged samurai and if I could make some critisisim: the loop looks a little bit strange to me, srry ???
-
EEK! I didn't know you'd taken to chopping your klickies legs off!! :o
Seriously, they look excellent, Cheng. 8)
It's very interesting to see how you adapt accessories from different themes - the Victorian maid's headband, for example - and all the little details that are added with tape/paper and stickers. :)

There's a bald-headed klicky coming in one of the new pirate sets. Trouble is he has the tan skin colouring and what appears to be tattoos all over his face, so the possibilities for customisation may be slightly limited. ;) But as far as I can tell, it is a new head mold, so that means it could appear again in future sets and quite possibly in different colourings. :)
-
that is good to see a bald figure! Great customs Cheng. Cant wait to see more
-
Can the bald pirates head band come
off? The monk klicky only had a bald
spot in the center of his head and I don't
think his hair could come off. He was the
only bald klicky? Great samuries though!

hi Gai,
'Loop(s)'? you mean the color bands? ummm...just to add some 'samurai colors' ;)
hi Sylia,
its against my rules to cut or even rub off any printing from my klickies :D
....i had this viking with a broken leg...with this custom...he's no longer an outcast and proudly standing amongst my fierce samurai(s)
hey ajr10,
i have 14 on my samurai(s) shelf now...i suppose you have seen my other samurais in my much earlier thread...i do add once a while when i get the right inspiration and the right body parts.
hey seawarrior & sylvia,
BALD PIRATE;
too bad he's too tanned for many other possible customs if he wasn't
....and if his headband is moulded-on, then its worse.....
but if the blue headband is clipped on...there will still be that indentation....so i'm looking forward to only buying a couple to add to egyptian/middle eastern/indian themes only...and maybe one to my american indians as a mohawk or something...alot depends on whether the blue band is actually removable or not...
(but with all the great customisers here, i'm sure they'll be surprises with what they can come up with...so that pirate may still be hotstuff afterall :D
-
Very nice, Cheng.
Your samurai creations get better every time. Keep making them!
The bald pirate might make a good buddhist monk or something, but the giant head band is kind of odd looking. If it was just a tad thinner it would so much better. Oh well, I guess much smaller and it couldn't klick to head.
:)

-
Very nicely done, Cheng!

Amazing work. :o :o :o All your samurais were fantastic. Build more of them and create two armys. It would be a great diorama for some conventions.
-
thanks guys!
i'm waiting for PM to reissue katanas! :D
then the shoguns are going to rise again! ;D
and maybe i can recreate 'the last samurai' with my union troopers ;)
(i've just added another one...number 14...recruited a ninja)
-
i like the one at the right in de first pic. :)
not sure if samurai had pistols though ;)
-
hey Max,
a pistol is still nothing compared to those gattling guns he'll have to face (did you see the movie 'the last samural'? ;D
hi all,
just one new addition...number 14 !
easy one...so instead of starting a new thread...thought i'd just add it here...
...no katana...only his nun-cha-ku...wont last long in any battle...his job is to attack his enemies at night
(what i needed was really the single-hand held shortsickle with chain...if you know what i mean)

Hello, Cheng ...
Every "Asian" Klicky produced by Playmobil has the same eyes. Playmobil seems to think that this is what Asian eyes are supposed to look like (see attached example).
Do you think that this is offensive to Asians? And, do you think that Playmobil should use the same eyes for all their Klickys?
New subject:
Your Samurai collection is fabulous. I am really looking forward to seeing your "Last Samurai" diorama!
All the best,
Richard

I liked Chengs suggestions on the eyes of my asian guys--to try different eyes and eyebrows. I followed that suggestion and the variety makes a significant difference, I think.

very interesting questions Richard! (hey everyone, i'm ok if you want to air your views here...dont want to start a thread on this subject in case it blows up this forum...no pun intended ;D)
i'm no expert and only been once to china and i didnt take note of their eyes(original stock of chinese you can say)...i definitely will, next time! what about you...you must know a couple..do they have slanted or slitty eyes?
personally, i think they dont feel offended...slanted eyes and fu-man-chu moustage was a stereotyping for chinese/japanese since who's-that-fu-man-chu in pink panther...and a lot of opera plays and movies by westerners depicting chinese/japanese...and i've never hear any asian taking offence at these or boycotting these shows ;D
but i think for our kliky world...its definitely ok....like drawing caricatures...we have to use a distinctive feature to make our uniform height klickies become a negro-slave one moment and a medieval king the next moment....and if you see my previous samurai(s) and my previous(i've just 'improved' them ) year 1900 boxers, i did use all the slanted-eyed heads that i had...since i dont enough to share between my both these themes...i left the others as 'big' eyed asians :D ...afterall there are all sorts in the real world anyway, right? ;)
and thanks for the beautiful picture of the ninja i never had...i'm sure his head will 'come back' ;D ....japanese didnt sport those fu-man-chu moustage and his shirt is chinese not japanese...(my opinion only)and ninjas dont use head bands(PM must have been thinking of that movie where this 'retired' japanese master used unorthodox methods to teach this western kid(cant remember the movie's title..can you?) but instead fully wrapped up their heads...i think...but doesnt matter to a customiser like me...i just need him, cut up :P and his katana(s)
will enjoy searching for original PM katana(s) and gattling guns...some toymaker must have made one :)

Hello, Cheng ...
Thank you very much for your very thoughtful reply to my questions.
The only two other Asian Specials that I can remember are the Karate and Mandarin Klickys (please see attachments).
I hope that you really do create a "Last Samurai" diorama, Cheng. I really liked that movie a lot!
All the best,
Richard

Yes, I too loved the movie "Shogun" ... Richard Chamberlain was great! In fact, I think that he did a much better job of acting than Tom Cruise did in "The Last Samurai" ... ;)

OMG...i was reminiscing
Richard Chamberlain in "Shogun" and youre right again..Tom Cruise's acting wasnt even close...but nevertheless it was good the somebody made such movies once in a while, again!
and (i couldnt see those last 2 pictures tou posted that day) i like your two asian klickies' pics...were they original pics/setting taken by PM or did a member take them? and if so, you do do a lot of archiving of pictures then!
