anyone seen the black and white movie?
sorry, lighting & focussing still to be improved
...i have always wanted to make these but never had any katana(s) so i can only make japanese spearmen, armoured horseback archers and a fighting monk
is everyone busy making roman customs? ;D
-
Very good cheng!
They realy look like from the japan even with lot of european's medieval piecies.
Like you, i hope see one day this theme in the playmobil catalogue. ;)

Fantastic!!
perfect!!

Well done, Cheng!
Like almost everyone else, I too hope that Playmobil will someday offer a Samurai theme.
Thanks for sharing ...

Hi.
Very cool. As much as I like the samurai, I think the monk is my favorite. Cool idea for the beads. The Playmobil katanas are really too long to fit in a sword belt anyway, so spearmen are a good idea.
:)

Great customs Cheng and a nice change from the roman figures that occupy us all lately lol !
Cheers

thanks everyone!
now for a little trivial pursuit;
1) i made the 'rattan' monks hat from my daughter's toy part...what was it or from which famous toy/brand?
2) the samurai's banner....which toy themes are the parts for the pole and banner from? (this one is easier than Q1)
;D
-
--thinking--thinking...
Well, the standard is a lego jousting lance with flags.
the rattan hat...thinking....
thinking....
-
yeah, cheng used Lego quite successful, I always wondered to do some samurais, too, now cheng was quicker, very nice idea ;D
-
The monk's hat looks like a mini-Frisbee ... :o

The monk's hat looks like a mini-Frisbee ... :o
INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D
i thought it was not fair of me to ask that question since there are so many plastic caps from bottles etc that could have looked the same
tell me your daughter has one of those pink barbie frisbees, then i can console myself :D
-
Those are terrific Cheng! I loved the movie, although I much prefer and consider among my favorites of all time the "westernization" of the Seven Samurai, "The Magnificent Seven"!
-
I like your 7 samurais. Please show us some more detailled pics from them.

hey Knightmo....maybe this trivia will be easy for you too?
another trivia....where are the 'horns' from?
hello Bennain!
which japanese would you like to see closer?
and Capt,
yes, the Magnificent 7 was quite a show...never did learn to whistle those tunes...aaaahh...nostalgia...
-

Lego samurai stuff ;)
-
I'm going to guess those are Lego horns too.
I have a little lego samurai at home (I'm at parents house right now). I'll look at him and see for sure.
Also, There is an anime (japanese cartoon) out that is called "Samurai 7". It is loosely based on The Seven Samurai. The series is set in a sort of futuristic world. I bought it on principle, but the original movie and western adaptation are probably better.

almost there Gaius & knightmo...
Lego is right but maybe you never played with those themes...
any Lego experts here? ;D

-
good work...what about a 'samurai jack' figure... :)
-
thanks all!
hey Fred, i just learnt :P who 'samurai jack' is (we dont have him on our local network)...hmmmm :-\
would you believe i have been thinking of constructing those overlapping what-u-call lapels/neck and their little tails...quite against my rules ;)
and their sandals too.
-
I watched the movie on DVD the other day and said that I tought Samurai were the one warrior it would be impossible to make a Playmo figure of. (My family are used to me making these daft statements).
It seems I was wrong!
They are super Cheng.
-
I watched Samurai jack and liked it alot until they showed the forces of good in that universe was a trio gods who posed as asian monks to give his sword power or some absurd gaggle of spiritual gobbledygook. Ick. :-\
I think I may be missunderstanding the posts, but a Samurai jack figure has been done. Theres a website somewhere with lots of custom stuff. It's the person who did the elaborate Roman society with chariot races, baths, etc...
-
thanks Dan,
i too thought it was impossible to make samurais and thought about it for a long time ;)

hmmm..sounds familiar...but i think one was ninjas with nunchakus or maybe you were referring to another with chinese civilians with a carrying pole or junk or something...i cant recall where too :P
but if its really samurai jack or similar...i would like to learn something new too....there's always room for improvement ;D in fact i have been improving my samurais...not enuff yet ;)
-
Well done! The monk is my favorite.
-
Very good cheng! ;D
-
Hey. someone on playmofriends just reminded me of the person who made the samurai jack. It was Macgeyver. I don't know if a link to the web site still exists somewhere on this board, but I'm pretty sure that's who it was.
-
Hello, Jimmy ...
I don't know if what you're looking for is here, but here's MacGayver's url:http://www.macgayverplaymobil.be/
Or, just click HERE !!! (http://www.macgayverplaymobil.be/)
