After watching the movie 'Gods & Generals' I took some pictures of my armies...
Here's my 'small' confederate army... For some of the guys I took the pants of the pirate captain (3791) because the blue pants was too confusing for the union guys and colorwise it looks better in my opinion :D

Excellent photos and a terrific army of the Confederate States! Pirates and the Civil War! Do you collect medievals as well? And how do you afford them - I can barely keep up with my pirate addiction! :D

Yep, I also have some medieval stuff. I have the 3666 still unpacked :D
Every day I say: i will buy no more... and still... But now, it has to stop :D
And it seems to work (more or less) because last week I didn't buy Victorian stuff on ebay, even when I liked it that much

Thanks for all the wonderful pics. I really enjoyed them. You seem to have a fine collection, especially of Union troops including some really old ones.

David, thanks :P I have the older unions since I was a kid :D The new ones & confederates I bought during the last 6 months... I like the new ones more  The scarfs and the wrist thingies are so fragile from the older ones... Does anyone has an idea why it took so long before playmobil released the confederates ???

Hello, David ...
Back in the early 1980s Playmobil introduced a COLOR set of Confederate soldiers (3611). The set may not have sold very well. And, Zirndorf may have thought that there was not enough interest to warrant the production of Confederatte soldiers at that time.
(What's very interesting is that they really made an attempt at historical accuracy with the coloring of this set. I particularly like the flag, the red kepi and cuffs on the Artillery figure and the Louisiana Tigers.)
All the best (and I love your fotos),
Richard

Thanks for "updating" all of your old photos and adding some new ones to this great thread!
You have amassed a very impressive Union army ... (http://www.gardenwargamer.com/images/worshippy.gif)

I like your Confederate soldiers a lot, as they look very authentic and unique. You new Union army and fort is also very impressive. I too like the new Playmobil klickies as they are more authentic with more detail.

I remeber that old set you have a picture of the Union guys in box. That was one of the first sets my father got me as a kid. I still got em. ;)
