Title: DD's Punisher
Post by: deadeye dick on August 10, 2005, 10:49:11 PM
Well, since Pirates of the Caribean, everybody wants to have it's own 'Black Pearl'. The original idea was to print the sails on QuickFuse with the skull used for the Punisher movie. I had to wait for the QuickFuse (still waiting). In the meantime I 'played' with the new Blackbeard's Ship (5736). I don't like this ship, but the black hull and deck were perfect for the punisher. Also the plastic sails were OK (better when you play in the water). So, I bought some plastic sheets and this is the result... B.T.W. I used the other parts of the 5736 for another ship; the 'Caribean Queen' (yet to come   )

And I almost forgot the ghost... Don't exactly know yet how he will fit in the story, but he was just essential for this ship

Aditionally another view on The Black... I mean The Punisher   :-[

And the genuine 'Punisher' front seal printed on QuickFuse...

And last but not least: DD in an unconfortable situation  :-\

What's next...

Well, there's still a 'Queen of the Caribean' to finish. And hopefully the Punisher and HMS Victory  (https://gardenwargaming.playclicks.com/forum/index.php?topic=144.0) will meet the MacGyver's Unicorn someday, which is in my opinion still the most wondefull PM ship today... Also gatherings with other (Belgian) pirates are highly appreciated  :P

Besides this I will post some pictures of the long announced 'Lionheart (https://gardenwargaming.playclicks.com/forum/index.php?topic=146.0)'. This was the first ship I customized and I got my inspiration from the large king's castle...

Terrific DD, just terrific! The ship has a lot of character and fits the theme very well.

What type of plastic did you use for the sails?

(BTW, The Punisher was always one of my favorite comic characters!)

Well actually I don't know. I just bought it in a scouts/chiro shop. You can compare it to these plastic dividers they put in ringmaps, but it's heavier. And it's definitely cheaper than QuickFuse. I am also thinking of printing stickers on translucent paper to decorate the plastic sails... This evening I will post a picture of my first idea of Punisher sails on Quickfuse...

Besides the plastic I'm also using Velux sails. You know these things they use as window blinds. What I can see from pictures, they ressemble very much the original 3550 sails. And I was also able to print them, although printing quality is not as good as on QuickFuse. And again; it's cheap

Here's an example of the Velux Sails:

Thank you very much, DD, for updating this great thread.

Your "Punisher" is a splendid ship !!! I also really like your, "Victory" and "Lionheart" ships.

However, your "Caribbean Queen" will always be my favorite !!! ... :)

Thanks again and all the best,
Richard
