Always difficult to made convincing customs for Asians in Playmo with original parts, it's very contrasted. On my opinion, the mongols or mandchurians are the best and I like especially the militar mandarin at the end. I find renaissance hats quite strange for asians.
Your customized parts with hallebards and swords are well done. Congratulations

thanks foulques for your answer ! as you say difficult to find good pieces for asian and difficult to be beautifull compare cheng customs .. it's so difficult to find good hats for this pieces !! i see large hat like this but not exactly the same , i do another version with a kind a bowl hat for woman , you will understand i try to approach reality because i cannot do better using only playmobil parts ... the pieces in resine (hallebard and swords are not created by me , i forgot to say here sorry it's made by a spanish (not malone) and i by it in ebay last year) in fact i really like to do or find information on the "sharp" hat using by cheng for this custom , you know i do custom only since more than one year and i've a lots of thing to learn in here !!

I agree with everything you said GASPODFREUD,
I only made these East-Asian hats after many years of waiting and seeing nothing in 2010.
As for your customs using only original East-Asian hats,
they are not immediately identifiable(as to which era/Dynasty/race) but is definitely more Asian than Ralf's Asians (sorry Ralf...you must come down to earth some times ;D)
I think the only recognisable East-Asian hats are the Mongol headwear and the chinese 'sailor hat'(which is usually black and used in the Qing era only by the Manchus or the Hans loyal to them) my Asian history is not good...I'm not so serious when it comes to Playmobil ;)
I'll wait for you to ask in the specific thread with the conical hat you like to make...hopefully its the Ashigaru hat...I'm hoping to see more such customs from some of you great customisers :)

i must admit i "work" ( i should say "play" ) with my imagination and inconscious images i get of differents personnality , sometimes i look at documentation but it's not often !! considering the playmo are difficult to be customised (without add resine or painting or stickers) i prefer doing good colors to bad taste to try to be realistic ...
i use too woman hats and fakir hat for asian but sure we miss pieces !!!

Your bannerman (with the Qing-style hat) is... interpretive... but better than most I've seen.
