Looks great :o Olki! But i hope you will continue your main theme soon.
-
I like them Olki !
(customs done with just pure PM parts!)
especially the overseas service Redcoat, the overseas service English officer and the Greencoat with breast pockets(who is he supposed to be?)
always happy to see untried/unthought/unseen(by me of course)/'unremembere' :D ) of combinations.
-
I like these very much, particularly the officer in khaki!

Since you liked him, here are his fellows!

;D

Hello, Olki ...
I really love your troops in khaki! They look GREAT!
However, there must be a lot of Mounties looking for their "Montana peak" stetsons ... ;)
And, I wouldn't want one of Canada's RCMP looking for me because I stole his hat ... ;D
All the best,
Richard
-
Thanks to many fellow collectors, who helped me grow my collection of Mounties, the quartermaster of Fort MacLeod has got plenty of Stetsons, more than there are Mounties on duty...... ;D
-
That's wonderful that you were able to get so many Stetsons, Olki!
It's really a great hat !!!
I know that the khaki pants and brown boots were used on the Jäger Klicky in set 3741. But, were they also used in any other set?
And the jacket on your Klicky seems to be slightly different from the one used in set 3741.
Please tell us how you made your beautiful khaki Klickys.
All the best,
Richard

Mhh, I didnt notice any difference on the Jaeger jackets....
Well, the Cavalry Troopers (the guys with the jackets ::).....), are just plain Jaegers with epaulettes and belts from the green Park Ranger, or bandoliers.
The other guy is an Infantryman, whose body is plain khaki (I think he´s from one of the older western sets) his belt is from the new Dirct Service Pirates (no partnumber available yet, sorry)
New khaki trousers and brown riding boots can be found at the horse cleaning set, btw.....

I don't know why I thought there was a difference. Because when I look at them now, they look the same. Maybe I need new reading glasses ... ;D
Thanks for the info on the horse cleaning set (4193)!

They are all good but the khakhi ones are great!

I´ve been busy doing other things for quite a while, but now there´s been a little time for building some new colonial type soldiers.....
Some pseudo Russians (greatly inspired by other peoples work here in this forum... ;))
-
more pseudorussians (some are not yet finally equipped, but sooner or later....)
-
The squad of Canadian Mounted Rifles has grown as well
-
These are going to be their cheaper friends ;D
-
Japanese soldier prototypes
-
A russian in summer uniform
-
Transvaal staatsartillerie
-
And finally a "I don´t know what it is, but I like it" prototype custom of the upcoming Cossackspecial (actually it´s the M"agdeburger Reiter" torso...)
-
I almost forgot my newest guys!
German East Asian Brigade
-
Italian Bersaglieri
-
french Chasseurs d´Afrique (I don´t have a white Chako, so I equipped them with a helmet, which is not entirely correct.... ::))
-
And my Boxers, note the two tigermen on the right!!! ;D
-
More great customs, Olki! I really like the diversity of uniforms and groups represented!
-
:o :D very nice !
-
The late 19th century theme is possible. :D
May i ask where the black epaulettes of your russians are from?
I hope we see more from this theme and your others.
H_M
-
Thank you for your comments... New pics are one the way!! ;D
The black epaulettes are from the green Parkranger, Mountie´s successor...
BTW, my Theme for my diorama at the Wolfsburg Convention 2009 will be the Boxer Rebellion of 1900.............
-
An update on the tigermen....
-
other boxers
-
Afghan Raiders with a russian prisoner
-
German 3. Seebatallion (pseudo ::))
-
more Russians
-
and finally some Brits

hey Olki !
now I dont feel alone (with this theme) ;)
please please show me the hyperlink if you have started the thread ;D
(I have a small shelf with the same title.....but still far from satisfactory....I need more appropriate hair and hats :P )
all nations have to be represented at your Wolfburg diorama...so looking forward to your french marines.....british marines.....US troopers.... i will need much inspirations from you ;)
-
olki: Your creations continue to be excellent and diverse!
-
Thanks a lot! :)
@ cheng: of course there will be a display of ALL nations involved (I even think about the Australian detachment!! ;D) in the relief of Peking.........
Frenchies are the most difficult for me at the moment, US Marines are onthe way and British Marines are in a developing phase).
As a GEerman, my emphasis lies on the German troops, of course... ::)

wunderbar! I will definitely follow your adventure closely....do keep us updated!

GREAT PROJECT, OLKI!
The "Siege at Peking" is so interesting for military modelers because it brings together the uniforms of so many different countries. And, many of these countries were adversaries!
I know that Cheng and I are very interested in the Boxer Rebellion and in seeing the photos of your display. And, there are probably a lot of other members here at GW-PC who are also very interested.
Thanks for sharing.
All the best and Happy Holidays,
Richard

Russians are beautiful, I like afghans too but made some good chinese and especially soldiers or boxers is very difficult. Perhaps too much colorful. You can perhaps use this sort of light turban for chinese (or malasians) on this exemple of coolies, I try to do boxers but I couldn't found a satisfying custom.
-
Very great idea!!!

this light blue turban is very appropriate for boxers....(unlike indian turbans which are wound/built up from a very long piece of cloth)....in fact i used two of these 'light' turbans on my boxers ;)
-
Thank you all for your advice! I considered the liht Turbans myself and try to get some.... ;)
Here´s my first yet unpainted and unfinished, prototype of a Maxim machine gun... ::)
-
I have used this radar tripod stand for a mortar for my Afrika Korps but this is an INGENIOUS combination Olki !! when you spray it...it will look very 'whole'! ;) I presume you only used epoxy but some drilling so that the parts hold better (especially the pistol & the belt, with such tiny contact areas otherwise ;D )
-
Actually I used the "Hot Drilling Method", I heated up a thin screwdriver and pierced a hole into the radar thingie, while still hot I added the pistol, so there is no need for glue, same goes with the belt.... ;D
-
Actually I used the "Hot Drilling Method",.... ;D
thanks for sharing Olki ! someday i might do that ;) (i'm still not ready to bend arms..legs, even less :P )
