Hello, Dan ...

As far as I know, this top hat was ONLY available in set 3543 (see new attachment) which is quite old.

All the best and good luck,
Richard

Hello, Cheng ...

The sailor's straw hat with ribbon was available in several sets during the 1980s (see attachment). The black shoes were painted on the white legs. And, the blue jacket came from the victorian soldier (see attachment).

All the best,
Richard

Hello, GaiusIulius ...

Here's a couple of "old" photos of Playmobil and LGB. The LGB "Red Cross" ambulance car is one of my favourites ... :)

good observation & question Micheal!  ;)

and Richard,
these old customs are treasures!
i'm still very curious whether these customs are still in this form today...arent you going to tell us?  ;D

when i was plastic-scale-modelling, i was one time crazy over vehicles with red crosses.  :) ....and i like the ambulance men AND the nurses..

a lot of retired parts are needed for anyone like me to recreate your arab themes too....i can only amire and hope someday PM reissues these!

perhaps i might see something that i can follow...i need some new ideas which i have parts for  ;D
carry-on Richard!

Yes, all of these "customs" are still the way they appeared in the photographs!

I realize that many parts that were used in these customs are no longer available through Playmobil. I am hoping that someday Garden Wargaming will be able to offer "master copies" of these parts so that everyone will have the opportunity to duplicate them through their own HOME MANUFACTURE!

Since everyone seems to enjoy "Tel El Kebir" and the Egyptian Army, today's "old" photos are:
"The Egyptian Army at Tel El Kebir"

your pictures are a serious inducement to intensify my resin experiments to overcome certain logistical problems.

impressive what you created with the comparatively few parts that existed then.

i am looking forward to seeing more pictures

....

i'll be waiting and watching with envy......maybe more of jealousy  ;D
(really against my own rules using die-casted parts but you all might just make me change my mind  ;)  )

and my dear Richard,
these 'old' customs....so heart tugging...
lately i've been starting to regret painting shoes on those old-type legs (i did to every old-type klicky for my knghts and ACW themes  :P )

but i might also be the first 'un-customiser' washing off their painted shoes someday(not easy because i sprayed at least 3 layers to make them look factory-finished) ..somehow these old customs brings back those days of good-old-klickies (almost every new torsos released today are now painted on....i really dread the ones with painted beast plates...like those spaniards coming with the new lighthouse set...but i also know that i can put belts over them and also those romans etc  :D )
