Wow! This is the most exciting figure I`ve seen for a long time;it`s also the best figure I`ve seen for a long time. Bravo EsDoc!:!:

Please tell us about the eagle crest on the helmet and the badge. Did you make them.?
The epaulettes are interesting, a breakaway from the usual EsDoc style :o Is this a modified playmo part?
The funny thing is, the cuffs interest me the most. What can the lace be made of. Is it paper?  I also like the modified boots and, of course, that mustache!!

I think Richard`s been waiting a long time to see a figure of this quality in that era.  :D  :D

Thanks a lot David :)

The eagle crest is made of a tiny metal figure I originally made for the regimental eagles of my french army. I made a mould  for these eagles of silicone rubber.

The badge is made of milliput and shaped with a scalpel. This part was actually among the easyier parts of the figure. The hardest part was not to ruin the shiny armour while modelling on the collar/epaulettes with milliput ;)

The epaulettes are indeed somewhat different from my usual style (funny how often my customs are identyfied through their epaulettes ;) ).
You're right they are modified playmo epaulettes. I think they look better for this particular figure then my usual ones (I'll post the photo after which I modeled the Kaiser one ot these days).

LOL the cuffs: These were actually inspired by your cuffs for the 18th century grenadiers. They are made from milliput with a small stripe of paper underneath, so the hands can still be moved. The lace is made out of paper (looks much better this way then the painted lace I tried on him earlier).

I'll do another figure from that era soon. As I still have some of the Pickelhaube-stlye helmets (without tip) in stock, I just cannot decide whether to do a Uhlan or an Infantryman ;)

Please do a Uhlan !!!

And, when you have completely depleted your stock of pickelhaube-style helmets, please let me know.

I may be able to help you ... ;)

Richard

EsDoc, there's not much else to say. I agree with David and Yoyei - simply the best single conversion I have ever seen of a klicky. C'est magnifique! Thank you for sharing it with us.

Hello Doc!
I haven't seen any of your new 'displays' unless i have been missing your threads :D ...what can i say, again.....its fantastic! thats another custom pic to save!

i have commented(although i might not be qualified to do so on my Guru's work :) )
on your epaulettes before, if you recall, now I'll have problems wondering which of those photos i save for my retirement belongs to you and which to David, if i dont label them :D :D

and like David(who already makes cuffs that i envy)...i think your cuffs stand out....just astonishing! and your boots(or whatever we can see!)

when i set out to be "historically accurate" with my klikies, i wasnt aware of the exisitence of you experts!
...or i wouldnt have dared use that statement :D
...i should change it someday..when forced to :D :D

i look forward to seeing ANY custom you come up with!
cheers!
