She's a beauty!

With that boat, and Andy's customs as well as EsDoc's Cerberus and all the other great naval customs (both ships and crews) - I am seeing the Aubrey/Maturin novels come to Playmo life right before my eyes! :D Very cool!

having seen a couple of threads with these (french?) naval crews, i will make a couple of the crews myself :)
would you say the Period was around 1790s?

Difficult to say, Cheng ... As you know, naval uniforms were slow to change, unlike their army counterparts. However, if I were going to guess, I would say just a little bit later. Say around 1812-1816 or so.

thats great...my red coats & french naval troops are supposedly around 1805...so they can fit into the same shelf...i'm running out of space :D

dont worry if there may be different opinions...that whats our forum is for...(not just 'show and tell' :D ) ...i remember starting a thread on historical accuraccy and i was so amazed my the mix of comments and opinions on history put forward by many members.

i just realised i'm now not sure if the grey sailors in Macgayver's longboat are french or english?

i thought they were french but now i think they are english  :roll:

I also think that they are English, the veils of the frigates behind plane leaves it supposed. But only MacGayver can confirm it. :wink:

Please remember, these are "Playmobil toy soldiers" and they can be whatever we want them to be :lol:

However, my British sailors for this period look a little different ... ;)

i keep reminding myself :D

(but for me they must at least be recognisable..like yours in those british navy blue coats are definitely the correct ones for me...not very clear...customed from Yankees i see? I just tarred 6 of those yellow hats last night and added white plastic ribbons...thanks! )
