American War of Independence Figures

A joint project involving more of David's dashing men in uniform...

Click on the pic to reach the page

We sold a few of these figures for fun on eBay last year, packaged in the labelled boxes. :)
Unfortunately, we had to give that game up - they didn't travel well because all the extra modelling work is fragile and doesn't always withstand handling by the postal services or customs. Out of 5 auctions, only 3 figures reached their destination completely undamaged, despite careful packing.  Still, it was a nice little project to work on.

We'll be adding extra pages to this section each week, so we will post regular updates on this thread rather than make a new one each time.  ;)

Please excuse the double posting for those who've seen this already elsewhere.

FANTASTIC FIGURE !!!
MAGNIFICENT PRESENTATION !!!

Wonderful collaboration, Krystal and Warrensde !!!

Most impressive !!!

Of course we all want one (or two ... or more) ... :)

So ... David, perhaps you could make RTV moulds of your originals and cast the parts from Alumilite. Then they wouldn't be fragile. Then you could ship them safely. (That's my advice for the day.) ... ;)

All the best,
Richard

No need to apologise! I was only teasing you.  :)

Honestly, I don't think David wants to go into mass production of these figures or any others - but not because it is unprofitable, just because he would find it boring making so many of the same thing over and over.

I've just finished updating the site.  :)

Photos of the next soldier, the New York Infantryman, are now available via the link on the following page:

Those are wonderful customs! I remember seeing them when they sold on ebay. I was tempted to bid, but concerned about how they'd cross the Atlantic. Now being able to see them virtually is the next best thing!

Thanks David and Krystal!

Could the "faded" image above be a preview of an American Marine yet to come? Or, maybe a Light Infantryman?

And, what about the other "faded" images. Is one a British Grenadier? Or, perhaps a Hessian?

Could this possibly be the greatest custom Playmobil series that David (or anyone) has ever created!

But, wait ...  EsDoc is currently working on a Uhlan as a follow up to his splendid Kaiser figure ...

Could this be the beginning of an incredible contest between two of the greatest Playmobil customizers of all time?
