complete waist belt a waste of time?
« on: October 25, 2007, 06:04:18 AM »
our Forum's very quiet..where's everyone after Halloween? preparing for All-saints'Day?  ;)

anyway just to share..when i run out of PM things to customise, i tinker around, completing klikcies with their half-printed belts, suspenders etc...they look unidentifiable from their backs otherwise  :D

would you do this to your klickies?
(for those who dont have this klicky, only the front is original factory-printed red belt...i merely continued his sides and back in the same pattern)

...and finally...any idea where(which theme) i can fit him to?  ;D

i am awaiting these torsos since long and would add a few patches and a turban -> sudanese warrior, without patches maybe a barbaresque pirate or some indian irregular depending on the weaponry.

and great paintwork :o
@ geobra: Thanks a lot!!! :-)

Hmmm, i was astonished to see you painting ;)

Sorry, but i still do not understand how it was made.
Is it a sticker? And if so, how did you make the 'painting'?

@ geobra: Thanks a lot!!! :-)

Thanks for your question, Michael!

I also don't understand how Cheng created his marvelous sash/belt/cummerbund ...  :-[

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who is confused ...  ???

All the best,
Richard

It's certainly good & he looks to me like one of the guys who used to lurk on Caribbean islands - "maroons" weren't they called?  Give him a musket, a floppy hat & a dog and he's away!

Where's my "Dictionalry of Pirates" when I need it.

Cheng

I was just looking at Cooster's Alamo pictures again when I realised that your figure is a Mexican village leader (he has to be a leader because he's got the sash!)

He's the guy who pursuades the villagers to send for the "Magnificent Seven", or support Juarez against Maximillian or hide Zorro when he's on the run!

Viva Mexico!

Yes Dan !!
ever since i was a kid..watching those zorro shows...its etched in my mind that mexicans dressed like this stereotyped all-white klicky....give him sombrero(floppy hat?  ;D )....a blanket and a pair of thongs (yes...a black dog would complete him  :D ) I did a small mexican soldier them sometime back..maybe i should bring them back together with El Zorro  :)

hey Michael & Richard...
its really just a strip of red PVC sticker and the black lines are just CD marker pen lines....i cant take any closer picture....and cant risk lifting the sticker to show you guys(may not stick back so well again)  ;)

What is a "PVC Sticker?"  (I know what PVC plastic is, but I've never seen a PVC sticker.)

ZORRO! Seems like it's time for el Zorro to ride again ... ;)

Thanks for the link....these are the very soldiers i will want to make but i'll have to figure out how to make zorro's mask first...any advice on this, Richard?

maybe i should have said PVC laminate/sheets....colored PVC sheets sticky on one side 'mounted' on waxed paper...i'll take a pic if that helps

Sorry, no great secret technique, Cheng ...
Zorro's mask was simply painted onto the klicky's head!

Is it like the plastic wrap that you use wrap up left overs that you put in the fridge?
(One brand name in the States is Saran Wrap.)

All the best,
Richard
