I found another inspiration, a french regiment of the epoque, see http://www.lead-adventure.de/index.php?topic=11663.0 and the related blog.

I found an old tipee with enough poles. They are not really suitable as already stated some time ago, but I want to give an impression how it might look. Maybe I can improve the poles by some orthopedic measures.

I remember asking you all about options for long poles (even as far back as when I was making merry men with wooden staff) but even with new safari themes...the perfect PM part is still elusive...looks like your old teepee poles are still the best option...

i remember having a few small PVC Japanese flower ports hanging from 3 plastic 'stirrups' unfortunately I cant find them anymore (mine was white anyway and spent too much time in the sun and probably thrown away) I've got red/brown ones but the 'stirrups' are casted like twisted strings/cords. so my search goes on....
