removing painting from klickies

A week ago I was asked how I remove the painting of my klickies and as this is a question every1 in this forums is actually dealying with I want to post a few tips of me in this thread. Im far away of being perfect so every1 who has different ideas is asked to post his/her way of doing it. 

1) Only remove the painting if it is really nessecery. If one paints the figure on this part anyway its probably too much work.
2) Take ur time! For a complet removal of the painting from one figure I need about 15 minutes...
3) Use tools  personally I remove the painting with 'Scheuermilch' (some kind of peeling for pots and pants usually to be found in the kitchen  ) and an old teethbrush:



if u r lucky and find an old electric one take that one, an dirty rig of clothes will do fine too.



or u use 'high' technique but u have to pay attetion that one doesnt danage the figure



I look forward to hear ur ideas cuz my method is very tiering once u have to clean 20 figures

to my knowledge this is the best method gaius!
its the method i use most!
a quicker but not so gentle method is to use nail polish remover, but that usually leaves very damp and not so nice looking patches on the figure
so i must say ur method seems to be the best so far yet!

hmm, i hoped for some easy to use, cheap and nonhazardous chemicals 

did it take you 15 min with or without the machinery?
any experience with heads?

I've found that a satin clear coat (semi-gloss) cleans up noticeable minor scratching if the cleaning was a bit too agressive.

Sray paint doesn't stick to factory paint, so removing the factory paint can't be helped sometimes.

If I'm going to repaint them, I use very fine emery cloth (it's like sandpaper but used for for metal - it's much finer thatn sandpaper).  This leaves the figure covered in minute scratches which I find makes a better painting surface than smooth plastic.

I think I know what u mean Dan. Thats a good idea, Ill check that out next time I paint a figure.
