Roman dromedary soldier

The Romans had a Syrian-based dromedary ala (cavalry regiment) that Karen Dixon mentions in her book about Auxiliary Cavalry in the 1st-3rd century.
http://books.google.com/books?id=XJDcYpgd8VoC&pg=PA99&lpg=PA99&dq=capsarius+karen+dixon+roman&source=web&ots=B0h-jP3SsF&sig=j97_X2uvMSXywXkAdt68fUyO7VE&hl=en#PPA32,M1
She doesn't have a whole lot to say about them, but mentions an infantry man's career took him to the dromedary corps, suggesting the dromedaries were Romans re-trained for dromedary service instead of native bedouins hired for the task.
So, my dromedary assumes auxiliary uniform, instead of native kaftan or something.
It really isn't finished--I need to add a sheathe for his (presumed) spear and two javelins.

Interesting and impressive!
I would have guessed that the Romans would have used native troops for this, but I guess not.
