Chief Of Police Jack MANING.
A tough as nails beat cop, Jack “Manny” MANING is now the Chief of Police of Mixan, the Confederation’s Capital City and the hometown of Lord Baron MIXAN himself; In fact, Police Headquarters is on the ground level of Castle Mixan (though through a door added for this purpose).
Chief MANING’S duties are far from merely ceremonial; Besides the usual rigmarole of being a sitting Chief Of Police/Reeve ď Shire (or Sheriff), the Mixan Police Department is one of the first lines of defense of the Confederacy, investigating and arresting criminals who have designs on the Lord Baron’s authority- Including terrorist. In fact, MPD has thwarted more attacks against the Confederacy that the Army and Navy combined, and were instrumental in turning the Britannian’s to the Confederation (by arresting General and Mrs. MONTGOMERY, now of course Sir and Lady MONTGOMERY, at a hotel room in the central west side).
Chief MANING was also one of the earliest defenders of Sir (later Lord Baron) MEEKS; When Edwin was still a functionary (though a significant one) to Baron RAINES, Jack MANING was a beat cop (and back in those days “beat cop” meant walking a beat, since cars were still a luxury only the very rich, such as Mr PLACEHOLDER, could afford). The two became acquainted over one of their shared passions (women, specifically chasing the same one), but despite this became quite close allies; In fact, Jack MANING was offered a Dukeship, but turned it down to be THE top cop of Mixan City. So much does he love his job that when talk of mandatory retirement (due to age, he’s now pushing 6Ø) came along, Jack threatened to shoot anyone who uttered the words- Including the Lord Baron himself (in fact, it was the Lord Baron that brought the subject up to him, and Jack very pointedly threatened to kill him right then and there).
Klicky Details:
I made Jack back about 15 or so years ago, before I had skill or inventory to do better. The torso, head, and arms are from “man, classic style, blue and black clothes, blond hair” (3Ø ØØ 279Ø). Legs are most likely from “yankee soldier, black hair & mustache” (3Ø ØØ 578Ø) or very similar. For clothing, he has an octagonal police cap with front brim (most likely 3Ø 65 528Ø), narrow yellow collar (most likely 3Ø Ø4 455Ø), black man’s tie (3Ø Ø4 434Ø, note that it was cut to fit the collar), plain yellow cuffs (3Ø Ø6 789Ø), brown single holster for western gun (3Ø Ø4 711Ø), and stickers for police set (3Ø 81 133Ø). I most likely took the belt from a Western Add-On (Cowboy Accessories, IIRC), the rest I took from a Union (yankee) set, most likely 3812 U.S. Artillery. His badge was just a sticker, intended for use on the fuel tanks of 3564 Policeman On Motorcycle.
