Born durring the time of the Cristian counter attacks upon the Muslim world. (The Crusades)
Saladin became Sultan of Egypt and through political and forceful mean became leader of the Turkish Muslims aswell.

I really like your Saladin!  The helmet and plumage especially look quite appropriate for him.

My only suggestion would be to, once again, change the sword to this:

Wonderful Saladin custom, Wot!

I'm sure that no one has any idea what Saladin actually looked like.
However all almost all the pictures that I've found show "fish scale' armour.
And many show a turban wrapped round his helmet.

Great period of history.
