Title: secret photo of FEF troops
Post by: Leblanc d. II. on March 16, 2007, 05:51:37 pm
Another photo that i have made last year with these awful Digital camera which i have already used for the photo of my french cavalry. The quality is bad but the picture shows the "heart" of my army.

OK thats easy. The redcoats are french soldiers. They belong to the French Expedition corps. Later in my story the French European Federation (FEF) will send them on the american continent than the conflict escalate. The gouverment of the UNA refuses every national colour for the corps and  every kind of heavy units. So for this mission the french troops must change their traditional uniform colour from blue to red.
Another reason is that the UNA uniform is although blue. They wanna to prevent the civilians population`s confusing one army with the other

The first line is the light company: 100 men
The second line is three rows deep and is composed out of 2 Musketeer companys: each 100 men
the third line is the "grenadier" company with the flagbearer and his guard: 100 men

summary: 400 men

Each company has
1 captain,
1 first luitenant,
4 second luitenant,
4 "Fähnriche" (i don`t know the english word for this rank)
1 company-Flagbearer
1 drummer
8 sergeants
8 corporales
72 privates

the bataillon has 10 company`s. three elite company`s (voltigeure, Flanquers, grenadiere) and seven musketeer company`s. Until today there are four company`s ready. In the next 2 years i will finish the other six. At the end: 1000 men. (A regiment has three bataillons :P).

Ohh boy. Each company costs with all equipment 240,- €.  ::)

And there are 8 other regiments which want to be finish soon.

...i love playmobil ;D

I´m looking forward to post more pictures of my FEF bataillon. I still wait for the Eagle Stickers to put it on 400 Tschakos  :P. I have  already seen some examples of it and i promised you: it will be look great. The eagle symbol  of the FEF is my own creation. The light, heavy and line infantery will get their own unit symbols which will be printed on the eagle. When the work is done i will post immediately some pictures.

It`s finished. The 10. Company is ready for combat after 4 years of collecting the parts for it. The last delivery from DS make it real. Enjoy the pictures, like i do.

And another couple of pictures of the 3. musketeer company.  Hundred men of devestating firepower. The musketeers are specialist in "line to line" rangecombat but weak against skirmishers and heavy cavalry.

By the way: The "third wave of pictures" is in progress and i plan a picture story about two young officers and their adventures in this fictive war (one on the french side and one on the rebel side).

I hope you will like it. :)

I also need a long time until the solution broke in. The idea was to use my eagles stickers as template. Then I needed some thin pasteboard? (pappe) and a sharp knife. As pasteboard my old
visiting cards had to hold. Then I cut out eagles symbol few
times. The i fixed all the little eagles together with glue. Then i cut the point off of the flag stick
and put the eagle and the stick together with more glue . Everything paint with gold colour. Finished.  ;D

Another elite company: The flanqueurs. Strong defense against cavalry. This subspecies of the Line-infantry became imported in the center of 22. Century, in order to work against the danger by cavalry charges.

Magnificent armies !!!  :o :o :o

Now it is to elaborate the scenes where to locate them  :(

The background of my collection is the novell that i write since i´m 12 years old. Many years ago, i wanted to give a face to the story and playmobil was and is a wonderful and funny possibility to do that.  ;)
