thanks for finally showing us your Greeks, GaiusIulius!
i really like your hand-painted shields....and their legs!!

youre a brave man...painting their moustage...nice.... and all :) ...the chain on thier white tunic...their beautifully clean shaven legs :D (you seems to have mixed two different shades of skin color...was that intentional or your just did that at 2 separate attempts?)

(your romans in the back ground caught my eye...you must be also eagerly looking forward to the PM Romans next year! and expand your Greek army with them!)

@cheng: I didnt realize that I have two different skin colors, I used once the 'norma' Revel skin color and once the new water based skin color from Revel. I had a closer look and saw that u r right  :D What Romans did u see in the backround?  :P Those r 1:32 knights which I painted years ago.

@Richard: thank u buddy  :)

...

have you tried other brands?
the 'pinkish' one is too pink for me  :P
the newer water-based one is too dull  :P
but judging from your pictures the pinkish one looks closer to the kliky's face color...

have you tried other brands?
i still forbid myself to paint skin tones...maybe until i find a really close match...without have to mix colors myself

thanks for sharing and happy new year to all!

how about showing us your
2 archers? (when are their short bows arriving?  :) )

ah...2 more questions about your 6 light armed soldiers
...
1)did you make their sleeves? if not which original kliky's arms did you use?

2)are their small round shields original PMs?

410 soldiers!!! thats quite a sizable collection....i havent bothered to count mine...(may be around 250....too many already...out of shelve space  :(  )

1) am I right in saying that u mean the swords of them?   If this is so I used the standart roman swords of the Roman Centurion 4632  available in ur local toy store  :P

2) yep they r, some old ones which i polished and put them to a better use than lying in a box

I just saw ur other post...u r right its a pity that playmobil takes so much place to play with it therefor Im happy to still live with my parents and not in a small chamber at Aachen where I would have no place for my loved figures  :D

Hello,

The shields could be the 30 63 8780 from the set 3017 Treasure Cave.

You can use Revell Airbrush Cleaner to remove the picture on it without destroying the plastic.

Greetings

i never noticed this treasure cave shield....looks great for a greek/troy shield WITHOUT removing the mythical drawing...but i'm no expert on art of that era...what is your opinion?   :P

This mythical drawing looks more like aztec or other old South-American style.
The 4595 Special Palace Guard / Sultanswache have the same Shield. But i don´t think A Moslem would paint a face on his shield.

I´m not shure about the style and paintings of greek shields. My favorite are the Romans. Perhaps somebody here have an Osprey MAA Book about the Greek warriors.  :?:

greetings
