I having been showing my Koreans here since my pioneer Joseon customs, so I thought I'd better make a brief introduction to their historical background (parts extracted from Wiki);
The Japanese made a sneak attack on Korea in 1592 and a second attempt in 1598 but were repelled both times by Joseon (Korea's longest dynasty) army with Hideyoshi losing half of his Samurai army with each invasion.
Here are some some these relatively simple Joseon soldiers, guarding a peaceful nation of farmers and artisans against civil-war-hardened samurai armies, many armed with the western arquebus.

thanks again Timotheos! I've picked up so much interesting history & culture, way before the Gangnam style and Samsung became household words here ;)

and thanks Richard, for keeping this specialized forum running....I try not to post similar (PF) photos here and for me GW is where we share photos of our PM armies...so I hope to post (here) photos of larger terra cotta and samurai armies which are growing at a snail's pace ;)

I try not to post similar (PF) photos here ...
Cheng, believe it or not, there are some members here at GW-PC who are NOT members of PF. So, it's OK to post the same photos here that you post over at PF. And, those of us who are members of both forums will enjoy getting to see them twice ... ;)
Thanks and all the best,
Richard
