Title: ECW 1642-1651
Post by: specialist on May 18, 2012, 05:45:10 PM
My Thirty Years War-men had to change some of their clothes (looked too colourful) and after that they travelled to England (looking for more variety concerning their headgear).

You put a lot of new parts on my tomorrow fleamarket shopping list.

It looks as if all those parts have been made for your purposes.  :o :o :o

Ralf, again, absolutely beautiful....and still very colourful ;)
..as always, unexpected use of parts and I'm always astounded by your partial erasing of torso/arm prints leaving me guessing which original part it was from ;)

Not sure how I could possibly have missed the use of Roman helmets in this series; Not that I doubt the probability that they were used (or at least “moderniᵶed” versions were used), but ¿is there any historical record of this?

I think they are normally taken to represent capeline/lobster tail helmets like these (https://www.google.com/search?q=lobster+tail+helmet&hl=de&prmd=imvns&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=Ss8XUJrHDYT04QT8g4HoAg&ved=0CGwQsAQ&biw=1280&bih=668).

henry_martini is correct. I tried to come as near to the lobster helmets as possible using only original parts.

@cheng: I fear that even with the new sets coming up in autumn it will be hard to create such a variety of decent looking Asian warriors from original parts. That is sad but on the other hand it helps me to keep the number of themes I`m working on limited.

I worked on my ECW-figures a bit to give some units regimental strength. The 10 Foot regiments have now 40 soldiers each, still working on more horsemen. The regiments look rather uniformed as they probably were during the ECW. I simply used colours available as original parts but there really was a purple regiment. I wanted to print the correct flags but this will have to wait.

First of all an overview, details will follow.

Fantastic series  ;)

but for drum is a good idea to put the soulder belt 30 22 9540 with the clip 30 24 7320

So you can put two sticks in their hands

Greetings  :)
