A simple question with a "simple" answer needed.
Just choose the most important for you and you playmobils ;)
We know that others periodes interested you, but just choose the first one ;)
Stéphane
PS: just a remarke about RENAISSANCE term.
In Italia, renaissance means XIV & XVth century, in France, this term means XV and XVIth century, but in England it means XVI and XVIIth century (see others wargames or historical sites ;) ). I think, it could be the time to travel Europe

It would be better if one could choose more than just one period.

Hello, Stéphane ...
Because I live in the "New World," most of us here think that there were TWO "colonial" periods.
The first colonial period is the one that you call, "Moderne (1600-1800)." To most "New Worlders," this "Moderne" period actually began in the 1500's with the coming of the Spanish Conquistadores. Then continued with the arrival of the English, French and Dutch explorers and settlers. It was also a time for Pirates and other opportunists.
The second colonial period might actually be the one that you have labled "Colonial." This was the time of the European Imperial expansion during the time of Queen Victoria and up to the First World War. Most of the "civilized" nations seemed to have participated in this incredible "world land grab."
In today's world, it is not politically correct to say that one really approves, or even likes, these two historical periods. However, I have never been known to be "politically correct." ... ;)
However, that said ... I would like to refer everyone to my friend David Helber who has expressed my feelings on this subject much better than I ever could:
"Socio-Historical Disclaimer: Nothing on this site is intended to promote any political, racial, or social agenda, so if you are working yourself up into an ideological snit about colonialism, please calm down, spare your blood pressure, and just enjoy the site. It's nothing but a few guys having some mildly goofy fun with toy soldiers."

Didn't know this link! Thank you Richard!
As this thread is asking for historical periods I had to vote for the napoleonic (NOT french revolution ;) ) time. To be precise I do all my frenchies to resemble the uniforms of 1813 before the battle of the Nations at Leipzig :)
