Title: Custom Roman Cornu
Post by: WarriorOfToys on March 01, 2010, 03:10:06 PM
Hello everyone,
I made a Cornu for my Roman army and posted a picture of him in the corner
(the main focus was on my cataphracts... atleast I thought it was ;))
Anyway, I got a responce from Richard asking me to post it here...
So here he is... My Roman Cornu:

First you take a roman Klicky...

Then a whip...
And a lance gaurd...
Click the whip and the lance gaurd together...

Tuck it under your Roman's belt...

Click it in his hand and you have yourself a Roman Cornu...

Enjoyed? Are you joking, WoT?

Enjoyed? That's pure genius, my friend ...  (http://www.gardenwargamer.com/images/worshippy.gif) ...  (http://www.gardenwargamer.com/images/worshippy.gif) ...  (http://www.gardenwargamer.com/images/worshippy.gif) ...  (http://www.gardenwargamer.com/images/worshippy.gif) ...  (http://www.gardenwargamer.com/images/worshippy.gif)

Without a doubt, that is the most ingenious Playmobil custom conversion that I have ever seen.

Absolutely, brilliant !!! ... (http://www.gardenwargamer.com/images/clap.gif) ... (http://www.gardenwargamer.com/images/clap.gif) ... (http://www.gardenwargamer.com/images/clap.gif) ... (http://www.gardenwargamer.com/images/clap.gif) ... (http://www.gardenwargamer.com/images/clap.gif)

It's so easy that I wonder why we all didn't think of it.

You are a very clever fellow, WoT!

Thank you for posting your great graphics and instructions here at GW-PC!

Thanks again and all the best,
Richard

This is a good custom.

I tried making a cornucen (sp?) a few years back with the same whip piece (but not your lance handguard).
I sought to include the short pole that spans the width of the horn coil (which the horn player actually held), but my custom never came together.

Yours works and looks good.

Thanks Timotheos! ;D
I was also going to add a short pole to the "horn" to make it more realistic,
but didn't want to sacrifise one of the few short poles I had.
Now I wont have enought of the poles to use for all cornucen. ::)
Thanks again!

WoT, I think that your Roman Cornu looks great just as it is with the whip and the lance handguard! Don't change it! It is very convincing and it looks like Playmobil!

And, your Roman Cornicen is perfect!

All the best,
Richard

Thanks Richard!
I wasn't going to change it, don't worry. ;D
Once I have to start glueing and cutting I generally stop and try to find another way...
And if it works well now, why change it?
I don't like things becomming to un-playmobil.
