Title: Napoleonic Prussians in 5, well... 15 minutes.
Post by: de Warrens on July 16, 2005, 06:01:42 PM
The new specials are there :D , well here :P.

When I saw the Captain (4642), I thought he had a very useful jacket for Waterloo Prussians.; specially when combined with the Confederate Officer (7663, available from the DS), Royal Guard (4611) and a few accessories.

This is the `quick`version. I know it can be improved, a more accurate collar, a little paint scratched off here, a lick of paint there...

These collars are much better.  :D  Painting the captain´s collar would be the easiest and cheapest way.  Now I`ve only got to rub the unwanted paintwork off.

Thanks Andy! :D

Here are today`s ideas! I scraped the unwanted paint off and decided that cross belts were better. Oh! And added a flag... colour.

I had another idea this morning, a drummer. On the left I´ve added a custom I made sometime ago.  All that´s missing now is a few more musketeers. :D

They look great, David!

A simple, yet very effective custom!

Thanks for some really good ideas!

All the best,
Richard

where did the door signage come from? home made or a discontinued playmo?

Bravo David! Very simple yet effective customs. I think it is fascinating to compare your soldiers - on some you manage to convey the idea with a minimum of work, and on others you use a great deal of milliput and paint! Yet, you always know exactly how much to do, or not to do, to pull it off. Fantastic!

I suspect it is the red medieval house offered this year from Direct Service. Or maybe it is like my red house - spray-painted. ;)

Does anyone know how much the direct service is asking for the Red House???

Simple but very good again David.

The oil-skin shako cover makes it perfectly visible this is a prussian :D

May I ask how you did the flag? I doesn't look like you painted it all by hand this time as you did for the Inf. Regt. No. 8 on your site.

Hi EsDoc!

I was thinking of quickly made wargaming figures when I made these customs. The flag had to be quick too, so I printed one from the net.

I found it at this Yahoo group :

Thanks for the link David

Haven't thought of yahoo groups in ages. They come in useful from time to time on different topics.

Title: The last photo?

I´ve been waiting fot a sunny day for over a week. Today I gave up and took this photo in the gloom  :(

Looks like they´ve been in battle since you last saw them.

Stéphene probably thinks there was trouble at the `red house´.

Battle?

Only one casualty?

Looks like they must have won the battle? ...;)

Or, is the "red frame house" actually their favourite pub? ... :)

And, the "head wound" was from falling off of a bar stool? ...

Is there a story to follow, David?

All the best,
Richard
