It is a group of imperial Slingers forming part of it auxilia skirmishers, scouts, browsers and launchers that accompanied the legions. Are not difficult to, them I have quite changed since version of a year ago or more.
During the imperial epoch launchers were trained almost exclusively by archers and Slingers because reach more of their arms to the old velitae of the Republic, employing javelins.
The Slingers were mainly formed by Balearic and the archers by cretens and Syrians.
Take deep, should take several gladius or dagger, bag to municion, no helmet, with a cloth bag mode and a small parma for defence.
-
We can see that in spite of mainly use the slings, also had weapon for combating body to body, although were not especially prepared for this.
To resumed a small skirmish, ye am against a group of Sentinel barbarians
-
The Slingers loaded against the Sentinel...
The guard group fights back the scope of the jabalinas is far below the slings, trailing to assistants
Decimated once the barbarians reach the Slingers forced to use their weapons of defence, creating a body to body block while the rest still firing with their slings...
-
The barbarians attack with their great swords, with extensive body slashing swords, while assistants resort to a defensive position with counter-attack by stabbing...
Definitely kill to the Sentinel barbarians selves killed with the slings...
That is everything, I hope to enjoy

Those are some very nice Roman slingers, Argand. Are you going to create an entire "century" of them to complement your other Romans. I also like your barbarians.
-
Perhaps the first slinger made in Playmobil, very convicing, congratulations!

The skirmishers look good.
Playmobil definitely under-represented them.
How about trying your hand at "Marius's Mules", the pack Roman legionairres carried over their shoulder?

GB's Roman theme was more than complete for me ;D so I bought some and never had more to customise :-\
so now I'm glad GB did leave us some room for theme expansion ;D
