Title: Low Ranking Samurai scum

Here are some low ranking samurai scum.  The foot soldiers you see in the movies who wear no clothes under their armor, except maybe a fig leaf.

I have more in mind and will append the thread as I come up with them.
I defend the tan skinned guy because a lot of Japanese can be quite swarthy--especially when dirty and sun-baked.  The photo inspiration was the samurai in the lower left corner of the Li Poknam photo (re-posted below).  But I see these guys a lot in the classic samurai movies.

NOTE: I'm trying to spruce up Li Poknam. I painted his coif red and may add the fur trimmings...

You met the scenery and the figures very well. I had much fun spotting how you rendered the details and assume you had a lot of fun, too.

If at hand you might consider using a more blackish spangenhelm for Li Poknam. I seem to remember it comes with one of the barbarian sets.

Now I am off to do some research about this theme. You really directed my interest to.

how long have you been hatching these  :D
i'm afraid i've been taking too long myself...
i'm still not finished my samurai army...
but i've used one of those oversized head ribbons...
i'll try to speed up and post mine so we can exchange notes..
(i'm trying to keep mine looking like original playmo or how playmo might make them...its quite impossible to make asian themes without adding non-playmo parts...but then again, Ralf might make me eat my words  ;D )

I'd been stewing these guys in my mind for over a year, but two weekends ago, the inspiration suddenly hit for putting the idea into practice.

since GW is relatively quiet...allow me to take this oppurtunity for 'small talk!   ;D
yes....somethings take me a year or two too.....but I have several plans in my head at any one time so, time passes rather fast...I wait to see more from you!  ;)
