Zirndorf, Germany - Hans Beck, who invented the Playmobil dolls and matching model cars collected by millions of children, has died at the age of 79, the German manufacturing company which employed him said Monday.

It is very sad news.

I totally agree with Richard's comment which he has posted above Hans' photo. :)

NOT MANY MEN CAN CLAIM THAT THEY HAVE AFFECTED THE LIVES OF SO MANY OTHERS IN SUCH A SWEET WAY.....YOU HAVE AND WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE.....MANY MANY YEARS FROM NOW AND HOPEFULLY, OUR CHILDREN'S CHILDREN WILL PLAY WITH 3-D COMPUTER GENERATED PLAYMO  :D

FOR US...YOU HAVE GIVEN US AND MUCH MORE TO COME, UNCOUNTABLE HOURS OF FULFILLMENT AND ENJOYMENT  :D

AND YOUR LOSS TO US ON EARTH WILL NOW BE A GAIN TO THOSE CHILDREN AND ADULTS LIKE US UP THERE

A sad loss.  He bought fun and happiness to millions.
