Title: Trading post
Post by: Master Twigg on July 05, 2005, 01:03:02 AM
I think we should use the Garden Wargaming forum for more than pictures and communication. I think we should set up a trading post where we can come together and trade internationally. I too have many spare parts that i believe others can use. If it would be alright with the creators of this site i think all those in favor of this idea reply or organize a poll. I dont know, if its just me who thinks this is a good idea let me know.

I gave my opinion HERE (http://www.playclicks.com/gardenwargaming/foro/viewtopic.php?p=844#844). Now are the founders of the site who will decide.

GREAT IDEA!

AND ...

Yoyei (creator of Playclicks and Gardenwargaming-Playclicks) has set up a wonderful site (in Spanish) for exactly what you have suggested.

Yoyei's site is called MERCAPLAY (http://www.mercaplay.com/) ...

Take a look (http://www.mercaplay.com/tienda/) ...

The idea of trading on this board has popped up recently, and after discussing it with Yoyei and Richard, I think I can speak for all of us.

Straight trading (i.e., I'll send you two muskets for a cutlass) is not only permissible, it is encouraged! It would be great for us to be able to help each other out, especially since I am sure that all of us have bins of parts we are not using that would be very useful to someone else.

What is not allowed is selling parts/sets/customs etc. for profit. Yoyei graciously covers the costs of maintaining this site for all of us, and it is not fair for others to benefit financially from his investment. In addition, it is often the case that when money is exchanged, friendships and relationships can be harmed.

So, the bottom line is that as long as there is no financial motive behind the trading, all is well. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to contact Yoyei, Richard or myself. Thanks!
