Hi all!!
For all those who do not know of them, that there is a good collection of books, from Osprey Publications, that describe and illustrate in good detail military uniforms and armors ("Men-at-Arms" series), as well as battleships and fortifications ("Fortification" series) from all times, Ancient Greek to Falklands war, as much as I know. There are non-sancti ways to get them for free as pdfs.
You can get a catalog of current titles from

Osprey books are indeed a great resource! I've got a number of them, although I haven't really tried to customize any klickies based on them. That said, I'm using them as a resource while assembling my Romans and barbarian horde. I'm also in the midst of creating both a Playmobil wooden and a stone legionary fortress based on a couple of their Roman fortification books.

My collection takes up 2 feet (0.6m) of bookshelf space (& when you think how thin they are - that's a lot of Ospreys).

I've just used the link & you can suggest & vote for possible new titles.
"British Volunteer Regiments of the Napoleonic War" is what I've put forward (guess what I'm making a klickie of right now.....)
